Suggestions:

1. Ambient music. Something along the lines of the Fyrestone theme from the Borderlands soundtrack. (Toggleable of course)

2. A help file built into the settings menu.

3. A simple "play game" touch location/button on the start screen will be more user friendly than just randomly touching anywhere on the screen.
